Upton Farm and Forest camp is
for 9-16 year old children who like
to be outdoors and work with
their hands, while learning about
solar power, New England
history and nature.
In the morning campers discover
their own ingenuity using
historic hand tools and modern
solar powered equipment. Using wood from our forest, stone
from our stone walls and
historical soft iron from the farm, children make practical, useful
items for the home and outside,
such as tool boxes, stools, glove
and coat racks, nets for insect collecting and plant presses.
The afternoons are spent
exploring the forest, fields, beaver pond, trails and streams of the 200
acre site. Expect to see lots of wild-
life, blueberries, and flowers while taking Captain the alpaca for a hike.

This is an example of a camp project. Campers of any ability can do some or all of the steps to complete it in a week. We evaluate children's abilities so that they are safe, and not stressed, during the project.
